Mánička is one of two female characters of stories, whose main characters are Spejbl and Hurvinek. Mánička is Hurvínek´s best friend. She is a spectacular little girl who learns well at school and knows a lot of things, so she sometimes looks overwhelmed at Hurvínek. Otherwise, however, it is naive, impractical, and Hurvin‘s boyfriends can easily cry. Their characters and their relationship can be compared, to a certain extent, to the relationship between Lisa and Bart Simpson.
